Neuron rolls out discounted Concession Pass as part of Neuron Access programme to more cities globally!

We hope to provide greater access to our e-scooter and e-bike services with heavily discounted rides for those in an eligible government support programme

We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our Concession Pass to more cities globally, following the successful launch of our global equity and accessibility programme Neuron Access. Through Concession Pass we aim to make our e-scooter and e-bike services accessible to low-income users, providing up to 50% off an applicable Neuron Pass.

In order to qualify for our Concession Pass, riders must be a current recipient of an eligible government support programme, which we have expanded to include a range of city-specific programmes. Please start an application through the ‘Rates & Passes’ page on the Neuron app to find out more.

Similar to low-cost transit passes offered by public transport services, our Concession Pass makes budgeting for transportation expenditure easier, allowing users to ride more at substantial cost savings and reduced upfront fees. Concession Pass holders will enjoy free rides up to the daily limit with no additional unlocking fees throughout the duration of their pass.

As part of our latest roll out, our Concession Pass is now available in Adelaide, Ballarat, Canberra and Townsville in Australia; and Ottawa in Canada. We have additionally launched in more countries including New Zealand in Christchurch and the UK in Newcastle. This is on top of existing cities including Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, and Perth in Australia as well as Calgary in Canada.

We are committed to further develop what Neuron Access has to offer and create a wide-scale positive impact on riders within these cities. We hope to continue to lower the barrier to safe and sustainable transportation modes for the communities we serve.

Neuron expands Canberra’s riding area to Gungahlin and Woden!

More riders in Canberra can now commute, travel and explore on our distinctive orange e-scooters as Woden and Gungahlin join the e-scooter riding area.

We are thrilled to be expanding our service area in Canberra. From today (Friday, 9 September) Canberrans will be able to find, unlock and ride our distinctive orange e-scooters between four operating areas, including central Canberra, Belconnen, Gungahlin and Woden.

We are excited to extend the range of travel for riders in the city, providing an important link from Canberra’s north to south, while also increasing the community’s access to safe, alternative and sustainable first and last mile transport options.

As we expand into new regions of the city, we anticipate uptake from a range of new and returning riders. With safety at the heart of everything we do, we are excited to launch an in person ScootSafe event at Gungahlin Place Park from 11:00am – 1:00pm today. The e-scooter training session is totally free and open to the public, riders are encouraged to come along, brush up on their e-scooter skills and earn free credits towards their next ride.

Canberrans unable to visit our Safety Ambassadors in person can visit our industry-first, interactive online riding school ScootSafe Academy, developed in consultation with the Australian Road Safety Foundation and designed to provide riders with city-specific e-scooter safety materials and incentivised training modules.

Neuron expands Ballarat’s e-scooter riding area in time for spring!

We’re expanding our service area in Ballarat to serve more of the community, with an additional 150 e-scooters added to our safety-first fleet.

From September 6, our distinctive orange e-scooters will benefit more of the Ballarat community with an expanded riding area that covers a further 15 square kilometres. The expansion will be supported by an additional 150 e-scooters, which will be rolled out gradually over spring in line with demand, bringing our total fleet size to 400 e-scooters.

The expanded service area will support longer commutes from Ballarat Central to Lucas, as well as more residential areas in the existing suburbs of Delacomb, Ballarat North and Brown Hill. As our safety-first e-scooters prove themselves to be an increasingly important part of the transport mix, we are looking forward to serving more people in the suburbs allowing them to see more, do more and spend more.

Since launching in December 2021, our e-scooters have been embraced by residents with over 300,000 kilometres travelled. Our rider research shows that 86% of users believe Neuron has created a positive impact for the city and an impressive 63% of all trips replaced car rides, eliminating an estimated 32 tonnes of CO2.

As we expand safety remains our top priority. We encourage new and existing riders to try our new digital education platform, ScootSafe Academy to learn how to use our e-scooters in a safe and responsible way. Those who complete the safety quizzes and videos will also receive free credits towards their future rides.

Neuron launches self-guided art tours in partnership with Darwin Street Art Festival!

We’re proud to launch a series of self-guided art tours to the streets of Darwin, providing a safe, fun and sustainable way to explore the Street Art Festival.

This year, we’re thrilled to partner with the Darwin Street Art Festival (DSAF) to launch a series of bespoke self-guided street art tour experiences. Our distinctive orange e-scooters and e-bikes will be available at dedicated parking stations around the city, where riders can conveniently choose from one of four self-guided tours spanning Darwin’s CBD, Waterfront and in Nightcliff, with up to 53 artworks to be seen along each route.

The festival welcomes artists from around the world,  Australia and the Northern Territory, with a particular emphasis on local artists, to create stunning works that brighten the streets of Darwin and make art accessible to all.  To further support the festival, Neuron will be providing free e-scooter passes to artists participating in the event.

Our safety-first e-scooters and e-bikes will provide a convenient, sustainable and fun way to explore the festival. DSAF attracts thousands of visitors each year and to promote the city, we have also partnered with local businesses, recommending to riders where to eat, shop and visit along the way.  In Darwin, our vehicles are boosting the local economy and reducing dangerous emissions with rider research showing that 78 per cent of rides resulte in a purchase at a business and an impressive 56 per cent of all trips replace a car ride. By partnering with DSAFl and a number of local retailers within the service area, we hope to continue to make a positive impact on the city.

Neuron celebrates three years of successful operations in Brisbane!

Neuron celebrates three years of successful operations in Brisbane!

We’re thrilled to celebrate our third anniversary in Brisbane with our e-scooters and e-bikes embraced by the local community.

Three years ago, we deployed our first fleet of safety-first e-scooters in Australia on the streets of Brisbane. Our operations have been a success ever since, and today riders in Brisbane use a Neuron e-scooter or e-bike as part of their daily commute, getting to appointments and even to explore the city.

Since arriving in August 2019, our vehicles have been embraced by riders with more than 7.5 million kilometres travelled and an estimated 545 tonnes of CO2 emissions saved. Over the years, we have introduced e-bikes to complement our e-scooter operations, expanded our riding area to serve more parts of the city, and offered free passes to public health workers during the pandemic as a socially-distanced mode of transport. Recent rider research also shows that  6 in 10 Neuron trips resulted in a purchase, providing a much needed boost to the local economy. To support our growing operations in Brisbane, Neuron proudly employs over 100 local staff for a range of management, technical and operational roles.

Safety continues to be a cornerstone of our business and we are constantly innovating to improve our service. In partnership with Brisbane City Council, we’ve introduced a range of cutting-edge safety technology including the world’s first app-controlled Helmet Lock to increase helmet availability, pioneered a full suite of geofencing in the city, as well as many more since launch.

We are grateful for the continued trust and support of Brisbane City Council and our wonderful Brisbane riders. We look forward to being an integrated and valuable part of the local community for many years to come.
