Neuron wraps up another strong riding season in Vernon!

We thank our riders for choosing our e-scooters and e-bikes for a safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly way to travel

The final day to enjoy a Neuron e-scooter or e-bike ride in Vernon will be November 30. We would like to thank the City of Vernon, the Vernon Chamber of Commerce, and our riders for another great season!

Riders in Vernon have travelled 290,000 kilometres since Neuron kicked off the 2022 riding season in March. 40% of Neuron trips replaced a car journey, avoiding 29 tonnes of CO2 emissions to date. In order to meet demand, the original fleet of 250 e-scooters was increased to 350 while 50 e-bikes were also added in 2022. Neuron hosted 11 ScootSafe rider education sessions and gave away 500 helmets, helping keep riders safe over the course of the season.

The economic impact of Neuron e-scooters was evident in Vernon, too. Seven out of 10 trips resulted in a purchase at a local business which amounts to an estimated $4.5 million spent. For a more detailed look at how Neuron e-scooters are helping drive the local economy, check out our 2022 Canada Prosperity Report

We’re proud of the positive impact Neuron vehicles have made on the local communities and are happy to help tens of thousands of people in Vernon get around in a safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly way.

Thank you to our city partners and riders for an incredible riding season!

Neuron wraps up 2022 riding season in Ottawa!

We thank our riders for another rewarding riding season, with the final day to #RideNeuron in Ottawa being November 15.

We are wrapping up another successful shared e-scooter riding season in Ottawa, with the last day of service set for November 15. We thank the City of Ottawa, all city stakeholders and our riders for embracing Neuron as the city’s e-scooter program continues to grow in popularity.

This season, Ottawa was the first city in the world to implement Neuron’s new ‘e-scooter brain’ across an entire e-scooter fleet, helping them better integrate into the city. It enabled us to provide high accuracy geofencing, precise smart parking locations and better detection and control of sidewalk riding.

To date, our riders in the capital city have travelled over 330,000 kilometres since our launch in 2021. With 41% of Neuron trips replacing a car journey, 22 tonnes of CO2 emissions have been avoided. In fact, 95% of our riders surveyed in Ottawa believe Neuron has benefited their city and also improved mobility, air quality and congestion.

Neuron is also committed to partnering with Business Improvement Areas and has had an economic impact in Ottawa. Seven out of 10 trips resulted in a purchase at a local business which amounts to an estimated $2 million spent each year. For a more detailed look at how Neuron e-scooters are helping drive the local economy, check out our 2022 Canada Prosperity Report

Neuron expands riding area to include Lethbridge College!

Our riding zone is now extended to include the Lethbridge College campus area

Beginning today, our e-scooter and e-bike riding area is expanding to include Lethbridge College. This will increase our riding area by 80 hectares, giving the College’s over 5,000 students, faculty, and staff a safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly option to travel to the campus and between classes.

Vehicle speeds will be capped at 15 km/h to help keep riders and those on campus safe. Parking will be available in select areas and riding will be limited to roads and walkways on campus. Riders are encouraged to ride and park responsibly by giving way to others and abiding by parking rules.

Existing and new riders can learn more about their local riding rules as well as head over to Neuron’s online ScootSafe Academy and earn up to $7 in free credits by doing quizzes, playing games and watching educational videos.

Lethbridge residents have welcomed the e-scooter and e-bike program since the launch in April 2022. The riding area was previously expanded to include North Lethbridge just one month later and then again in July into trails in the river valley. Thousands of Neuron riders have traveled more than 350,000 km to date.

We look forward to continuing to grow the e-scooter and e-bike program in Lethbridge!
