Neuron to launch e-scooters in Frankston!

Our safety-first e-scooters will be gradually rolled out in Frankston’s city centre and foreshore area

We are delighted to have been selected to provide e-scooters in the Frankston City Council as part of a four-month trial. From May 18, 75 of our safety-first e-scooters will join our existing e-bike program which launched in January 2022. The e-scooter riding area will take place in a section of the current e-bike area, allowing for shorter distance trips in Frankston’s city centre and foreshore area.

Neuron’s selection in the city is due to a strong track record of partnering with cities, and our leadership when it comes to safety and innovation. We currently operate in all three e-scooter trials in Victoria including Ballarat from 2021 and Melbourne from 2022

Neuron’s e-scooters help reduce car use and congestion, improve air quality, as well as boost the local economy. According to a recent report by Australian Economic Advocacy Solutions (AEAS) economist Nick Behrens 65% of our e-scooter trips in Melbourne result in a purchase, resulting in an average spend of $65.97 at local businesses per trip. Cumulatively Neuron’s e-scooters contributed a massive $135.74 million in direct, indirect and enabled economic activity during the first 12 months in Melbourne.

Neuron’s e-scooters have been purpose-built to a commercial grade, specifically for renting and are fitted with cutting edge safety-features including; an app-controlled helmet lock, voice guidance, a Follow My Ride feature, an emergency button and topple detection. Geofencing will also ensure they are parked in one of the many designated parking locations across the riding area. The trial will also launch with Neuron’s new Augmented Reality (AR) Parking Assistant technology which will further improve parking compliance.

Riders will be able to unlock and use the e-scooters through Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes. To learn how to ride safely, users can also visit our industry leading education platform ScootSafe Academy, an interactive, online riding school with city-specific training content that can help to educate riders.
