Neuron to launch in Ballarat as part of Victoria’s first e-scooter trials!

Our distinctive orange e-scooters will be available to hire in Ballarat from December 15.

Neuron’s safety-first e-scooters will be available on the streets of Ballarat from tomorrow, making it the first e-scooter programme in the state of Victoria! The 12-month trial will see a 250-strong fleet of Neuron’s e-scooters deployed in a 25 square kilometre riding area, covering the Ballarat Central, Ballarat North, Lake Wendouree, Eureka Golden Point and Redan.

Riders will benefit from a range of pioneering safety innovations including: the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock which secures a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; topple detection; a 000 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function. Geofencing technology will also be used to control where e-scooters can be ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel.

New riders can download our user-friendly app, from the App Store or Google Play and set it up in a matter of minutes. A solo trip will cost AUD$1 to unlock the e-scooter and then 45 cents per minute. Our subscription service, Neuron Passes, is also available for frequent riders in three-day (AUD$25), weekly (AUD$33), or monthly (AUD$45) options. Users can ride to their hearts’ content for up to 90 minutes per day for an affordable price, generating savings of up to 96%.

We look forward to providing locals and tourists in Ballarat with a safe, convenient and socially-distanced way to travel!
