Neuron e-scooters will soon arrive in Oshawa!

Oshawa is the first city in the Durham Region, sixth in Ontario and eleventh in Canada to embrace our safety-first e-scooters

We have been selected by the City of Oshawa to launch the Durham Region’s first e-scooter program. From late-April, we will be rolling out 250 of our purpose-built e-scooters, which are equipped with the industry’s most advanced e-scooter technology. Riders will also benefit from pioneering innovations including the world’s first integrated helmets and voice guidance to deliver safety instructions.

Neuron’s selection in the city follows a strong track record of partnering with cities, and our leadership and commitment to safety and innovation. Oshawa will become our eleventh Canadian city and sixth in Ontario, following recent announcements in the Greater Toronto Area, including Brampton and the Region of Waterloo

Elsewhere in Canada, our micromobility programs are proven to replace car trips, reduce congestion and greenhouse gas emissions. According to our report, Shared Rides, Shared Wealth, Neuron is also boosting the economy, with 70% trips resulting in a purchase at a local business. Each Neuron e-scooter contributes an estimated $11,300 to local businesses and that equates to $26M across Canada a year.

Riders will also benefit from a range of cutting-edge safety features including: topple detection; a 911 emergency button which detects if a rider has had a fall and then helps them call the emergency services via their smartphone, and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function for added peace of mind. Advanced geofencing technology will also control where e-scooters are ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel in certain areas.

We look forward to partnering with the City of Oshawa to deliver a safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly service!
