Neuron launches safety-first e-scooters in Brampton!

An initial fleet of our 250 e-scooters are now available to rent, covering key areas of Brampton’s neighbourhood

We are delighted to have been selected by the City of Brampton as part of the Greater Toronto Area’s first shared e-scooter program. From April 3, an initial fleet of our 250 safety-first e-scooters which are equipped with the industry’s most advanced e-scooter technology, will be rolled out to cover key areas of the neighbourhood including downtown Brampton, Gateway Terminal transit station, Sheridan College, Bramalea City Centre, Chinguacousy Park, and Brampton city centre.

Neuron partners with the Traffic Injury Research Foundation to promote e-scooter safety and research in Canada. Users can visit our online riding school, ScootSafe Academy, for their local riding rules and earn free credits for future rides. Our Safety Ambassadors will also be out in greater numbers during the launch period to equip new riders with the confidence to safely ride and park our e-scooters.

Neuron’s selection in the city is due to a strong track record of partnering with cities, and our leadership when it comes to safety and innovation. The City of Brampton will be our second launch in Ontario and seventh city in Canada. Our e-scooters help reduce car use and congestion, improve air quality, and according to our report, Shared Rides, Shared Wealth, each Neuron e-scooter enables spending of $11,300 at local businesses per year.

Our fleet will be fully equipped with High Accuracy Location Technology (HALT) and Rapid Geofence Detection (RGD) capabilities to detect and control sidewalk riding for high accuracy geofencing. Riders are required to follow the local parking guidelines and secure their e-scooter onto a pole or frame using the vehicle lock to end their trip.

Riders will also benefit from a range of pioneering safety innovations including: world’s first integrated helmets; voice guidance; topple detection; a 911 emergency button, and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function for added peace of mind. Advanced geofencing technology will also control where e-scooters are ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel in certain areas.

To ride a Neuron, simply unlock and use the e-scooters through our user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes.
