Neuron e-scooters and e-bikes are coming to the Region of Waterloo!

We will launch Canada’s largest single operator micromobility program in close collaboration with the Cities of Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo

We have been selected by the Region of Waterloo to launch Canada’s largest single operator micromobility program. In the coming weeks, 500 of Neuron’s purpose-built e-scooters and 500 e-bikes will be gradually rolled out across the region. The program is due to start in April and will be done in close collaboration with the City of Kitchener, City of Cambridge and City of Waterloo.

Neuron’s selection in the city follows a strong track record of partnering with cities, and our leadership and commitment to safety and innovation. Elsewhere in Canada, our micromobility programs are proven to replace car trips, reduce congestion and greenhouse gas emissions. According to our report, Shared Rides, Shared Wealth, Neuron is also boosting the local economy, with each e-scooter contributing an estimated $11,300 to local businesses a year.

Neuron’s fleet will be fully equipped with the company’s High Accuracy Location Technology (HALT) and Rapid Geofence Detection (RGD) capabilities to detect and control sidewalk riding for high accuracy geofencing, providing unprecedented control over how e-scooters are managed in Brampton.

Riders will also benefit from a range of pioneering safety innovations including: world’s first integrated helmets; voice guidance; topple detection; a 911 emergency button, and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function for added peace of mind. Advanced geofencing technology will also control where e-scooters are ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel in certain areas.

We look forward to partnering with the Region of Waterloo to deliver a safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly service!
