Neuron partners with Studio Dummy to introduce the future of e-scooters in Seoul!
We are partnering with local design studio Studio Dummy in a pilot project to showcase how e-scooters can enrich the lifestyles of consumers.
12 January 2022
Titled “Micromobility Safety and Innovation”, the collaboration brings together our world’s first app-controlled helmet lock and Studio Dummy’s innovative console box, a multi-purpose storage container custom-fitted for Neuron’s e-scooters. They are being displayed in Sangsu-dong as part of Project Rent II, an exhibition that shines a spotlight on innovations brought to life by mobility products.
Studio Dummy’s console boxes are made from Paperette, an eco-friendly material, and can safely store up to 2kg of goods when riding. Also designed for rental and safety, Neuron’s e-scooters are equipped with a range of pioneering features and safety innovations including topple detection, 119 emergency button, “Follow my Ride” feature and more.
As part of the project, twenty visitors will also get to enjoy a picnic each weekend. They will be provided Neuron e-scooters for a trip down to Seoul Forest where they can enjoy their console boxes fully-stocked with delicious food. Geofencing technology will be used to create a No Riding Zone within Seoul Forest to ensure the safety of both riders and pedestrians, but riding to the venue completely equipped for picnicking is quick and easy! Simply head over to the designated parking area to end your trip.
So stop by one of Seoul’s signature landmarks and go on a mobility-powered picnic this weekend!

Neuron e-scooters have arrived in Bundaberg!
Our distinctive orange e-scooters are now available to ride in the Queensland city of Bundaberg
12 January 2022
Bundaberg’s e-scooter rental trial gets underway today, with 250 bright orange Neuron e-scooters being deployed across the city. In partnership with Bundaberg Regional Council, Neuron is deploying e-scooters across Bundaberg Central, Bundaberg East, Bundaberg West and the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, there will also be a second operating area in Bargara.
Working closely with the Council, geofencing technology is used to control the riding area and create dedicated parking zones and no-go zones in specific areas across the city to improve safety.
Our latest N3 e-scooters have been purpose-built for safety and renting. They have an impressive range of world-first safety features and pioneering innovations, which include: the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock which secures a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; topple detection; a 000 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; a “Follow my Ride” function; and more to come in the pipeline.
Riders can book and use the e-scooters through Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes. Single trips will cost AU$1 to unlock the e-scooter and 38 cents per minute thereafter. More frequent users have the option to purchase Neuron Passes, a subscription service, available in three-day (AU$25), weekly (AU$33), or monthly (AU$89) options. The packages will allow users to ride as many times as they want for up to 90 minutes per day for a fixed affordable price. This will result in no additional unlocking fees and savings of up to 90%.

Neuron and the Australian Road Safety Foundation launch Student #ScootSafe campaign!
The nationwide campaign aims to promote safe riding for students to coincide with the start of the academic year.
12 January 2022
We’re excited to partner with the Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) to launch a Student #ScootSafe initiative and promote safe riding to start the academic year. While we have a very low rate of e-scooter incidents across Australia, a new intake of students often sees many new riders, some of whom are less familiar with the rules.
With a fresh intake of students, e-scooters are used by many new riders, some of whom are less familiar with, or less inclined to follow the rules. This can lead to reports of some riders not wearing safety helmets, others of students riding with more than one person per e-scooter, and a small number of cases of riding under the influence of alcohol.
We urge all users to be responsible when riding our e-scooters. Don’t drink and ride, Don’t ride in tandem, and please wear a helmet – it’s the law. Each Neuron e-scooter is fitted with an integrated helmet, so use them to protect yourself, even on the shortest trip.
To coincide with the campaign Neuron is offering discounted Student Passes which are available in weekly (AUD$24) and monthly (AUD$65) options. The packages will allow users to ride as many times as they want for up to 90 minutes per day for a fixed affordable price. This will result in no additional unlocking fees and savings of up to 90%. For more information visit the Rates & Passes page on the Neuron app.
Here’s a summary of our Student #ScootSafe campaign’s Top Safety Tips when riding a Neuron e-scooter:
- Neuron riders must be 18 years old and above
- Do not ride under the influence of alcohol or any other substance
- E-scooters can only be ridden on the pavement, not on roads or on on-road bicycle lanes
- Only one rider allowed per e-scooter, and no tandem riding with children
- Wearing a helmet is mandatory, there is one on every Neuron e-scooter
- Maintain a safe distance between riders and pedestrians
- Be aware of the riding environment and remove distractions (including earphones)
- Give way to pedestrians and mobility devices (such as wheelchairs) at all times
- Park responsibly, don’t obstruct access areas, don’t park too close to a junction
Riders who don’t follow safety rules risk serious injury, Police prosecution, and could have their accounts suspended. Find out more about your local Riding Rules here.
We can all play our part in ensuring e-scooters are safe for all, reducing the risks to both riders and pedestrians. Happy and safe riding!
