Neuron is now integrated with Google Maps!

The integration is available to Google Maps users across 16 cities worldwide, with more cities to come in 2022

We have officially integrated with Google Maps in Australia, New Zealand and the UK to help commuters easily locate our nearest available e-scooters and e-bikes for a safe and convenient first and last mile transport option. This will enable our riders to better plan their journeys across different modes of transport and make taking an e-scooter or e-bike even easier.

Our riders across these cities will now be able to better plan their journey in real-time. Google Maps can highlight the nearest e-scooter or e-bike, directions and information on how long it will take them to reach it from their previous stop, calculate price estimates based on selected route, the battery range and expected arrival time at their destination. Upon selecting a vehicle, users will be redirected to the Neuron app for unlocking and payment.

Globally, our rider survey has shown that over 45% of trips have already directly replaced a car journey, saving over an estimated 769 tonnes of CO2. Neuron’s safety-first e-scooters and e-bikes have been widely embraced across our cities, helping locals and tourists get around in a safe, sustainable and socially-distanced way.

By making it simpler than ever to ditch the car in favour of an e-scooter and public transport, we hope that this figure can continue to rise over the course of this year!

Neuron and the Australian Road Safety Foundation team up to promote safety as part of Melbourne launch!

To mark our launch in Melbourne, we’re teaming up with the Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) to help educate first time riders on their local riding rules

From 1 February, 750 of Neuron’s safety-first e-scooters will be available across the City of Melbourne, City of Yarra and City of Port Phillip, as part of the city’s first 12-month rental e-scooter trial. To encourage safety and familiarise Melbournians with their local riding rules, we have launched a ScootSafe Campaign with the Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) and will be deploying a team of roving ‘Safety Ambassadors’ to e-scooter hotspots at key times of the day to engage with the general public.

Our ScootSafe events will take place at the State Library Victoria on Tuesday, 1 February from 11:30am to 6:30pm, Queensbridge Square on Friday, 4 February from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and St Kilda Festival (South Beach Reserve) on Saturday, 5 February, 10:30am to 4:00pm). Neuron will also be deploying a team of roving ‘Safety Ambassadors’ to e-scooter hotspots. People who attend the events or visit Neuron Safety Ambassadors can take a short safety briefing to earn free credits for future rides.

To support the city, and to encourage riders to ditch their cars, Neuron is providing free morning commutes between 5am – 9am on weekdays for the first month. This will provide residents with a safe, sustainable and free way to commute to work.

Our distinctive safety orange e-scooters offer a range of pioneering safety innovations including the world’s first app-controlled Helmet Lock which secures and releases a helmet at the start of your ride. Other safety features include “Follow My Ride” which allows riders to share their trip with friends and family; a 000 emergency button; topple detection that alerts our operations team if an e-scooter has been left on its side so it can be repositioned; and geofencing technology that controls top-speed as well as where Neuron e-scooters can be ridden and parked.

Riders will be able to book and use the e-scooters through Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes.

Neuron releases Reconciliation Action Plan for Australia!

Neuron is proud to be a part of Australia’s journey to reconciliation and extremely humbled to present our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

Neuron’s Reflect RAP has been formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. Neuron is at the start of our reconciliation journey and this RAP is a significant first step for our company and our team. We genuinely believe in our nation’s goal of reconciliation and this plan will turn our good intentions into actions.

As we commence our reconciliation journey, we will focus on educating ourselves and our team to build a deeper understanding and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories. We are proud of the diversity of our Neuron team members, who together are committed to creating pathways for opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples both within and external to our business.

Neuron has been operating in Australia since 2019, and during that time we have taken some small steps to increase our understanding, appreciation and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We have started investing in meaningful partnerships that provide opportunities for employment, and prioritise using suppliers that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. However, as an organisation we are just at the beginning of our journey and we are hopeful that through this RAP we can take meaningful and tangible steps towards the reconciliation of the nation.

We would like to thank all our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community stakeholders who have supported us on our reconciliation journey and for their input in developing our RAP.

Neuron Mobility to launch e-scooters in Melbourne with a range of cutting-edge safety features

Our safety-first e-scooters have been selected for Victoria’s first metropolitan e-scooter trials!

From 1 February, 750 of Neuron’s purpose-built e-scooters will be available in the City of Melbourne, City of Yarra and City of Port Phillip. This comes as Neuron’s third Victorian announcement after the launch of e-scooters in Ballarat in mid-December, and the launch of an e-bike trial in Frankston in January. Other cities in Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, ACT and Northern Territory are already benefiting from our industry-leading e-scooters, which help to significantly reduce congestion and emissions while boosting the local economy.

Neuron riders will have access to Australia’s first  third party rider liability insurance for e-scooters, in a move to protect and reassure riders as well as the wider community. The provision of third party rider liability insurance goes well beyond what is required by law and further demonstrates Neuron’s commitment to operating in the safest, most responsible way.

Our latest and safest next-generation e-scooters are also equipped with a range of pioneering safety innovations, including the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock, securing a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; geofencing control; topple detection; a 000 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; and a “Follow my Ride” function and more.

Riders will be able to book and use the e-scooters through Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes.

Neuron to launch safety-first pedal-assisted e-bikes in Frankston!

A fleet of 150 Neuron e-bikes launch on the streets of Frankston tomorrow, with the same cutting edge safety features brought over from our e-scooter technology

From tomorrow (21 January), our pedal-assisted e-bikes arrive on the streets of Frankston, available to hire across a 23 square kilometre district. The 12 month trial run by Frankston City Council marks the beginning of Victoria’s first Neuron-hosting e-bike rental scheme and follows the recent arrival of our e-scooters on the streets of Ballarat, Hobart and Launceston in mid-December.

Neuron’s distinctive orange e-bikes are already a success in Darwin, Adelaide and Brisbane, where they operate alongside Neuron e-scooters. The addition of micromobility in the community is set to make a positive impact, with the pilot scheme offering a safe, sustainable and socially-distanced way to travel, while boosting the local economy.

Neuron e-bikes are GPS-connected and geofenced to control riding areas, parking spaces and top speed (up to 25kms in most areas). Riders will benefit from the same cutting-edge safety features brought over from our e-scooter technology, including the world’s first app-controlled helmet-lock that secures to the e-bike in between trips; topple detection; 000 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; and ‘Follow my Ride’ function.

Riders will be able to book and use the e-bikes through Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes. Standard Single trips will cost AU$1 to unlock the e-bike and 45 cents per minute thereafter. More frequent users have the option to purchase Neuron Passes, which allows users to ride for as little as $1.50 a day. They are available in three-day (AU$25), weekly (AU$33), or monthly (AU$45) options. The packages will allow up to 90 minutes per day for a fixed affordable price, with no additional unlocking fees and savings of up to 96%.
