Neuron will be launching soon in Tasmania’s first e-scooter trials!

Neuron has been selected to provide e-scooters in Hobart and Launceston.

Residents and visitors of Hobart and Launceston will soon be able to use our safety-first e-scooters as part of their daily commute, with Neuron being selected as part of Tasmania’s first 12-month trial that will start before the end of the year. It is the latest state to introduce e-scooters with Queensland, South Australia and Northern Territory already benefiting from Neuron’s industry-leading e-scooters.

Neuron was selected due to our strong track record of partnering with councils, and leadership when it comes to safety and innovation. Neuron will invest significantly into both the cities, creating many jobs which will be recruited locally.

Our riders in Hobart and Launceston can benefit from a new safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly way to travel, as well as a range of pioneering safety innovations. These include the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock which secures a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; topple detection; a 000 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function. Geofencing technology will also be used to control where e-scooters can be ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel.

We have also launched Australia’s first — and only — third party rider liability insurance for e-scooters, in a move to protect and reassure riders as well as the wider community, further demonstrating our commitment to operating in the safest, most responsible way.
