Neuron’s safety-first e-scooters are coming to Korea!

To kick start our Korean launch, our distinctive orange e-scooters are now available to hire in Seoul

Our first city in Korea will launch on 5 March, with 2,000 safety-first e-scooters hitting the streets of Seoul. The decision to expand into Korea was made after the introduction of tighter rules by the government, and to respond to the authorities’ increasing focus on e-scooter safety.

We will be launching our new ‘Korean-spec’ KS1 e-scooter, which is fitted with the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock. This electronically secures a safety helmet to every e-scooter, releasing it at the start of the trip so they are available to all riders – especially important with recently-updated laws requiring all riders in Korea to wear a helmet.

Riders will be able to enjoy other impressive safety features and pioneering innovations including: topple detection; a 119 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; a ‘Follow my Ride’ function; and, the use of geofencing technology to control where e-scooters can be ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel.

This latest announcement builds on our recent international expansion drive, with launches in three cities in Australia and New Zealand, and three cities in the UK over the last six months.

We’re really excited to see you soon in Korea!
