Safety has always been our top priority and partnering with TIRF will help us further lead the way in rental e-scooter safety. Established as a registered charity, TIRF is an independent road safety research institute that works with governments and stakeholders across Canada to make roads safer and reduce road deaths and injuries. It is a world leader in research, program and policy development, evaluation, and knowledge transfer.
Together we will co-develop campaigns and activities that will promote rider safety in Canada. TIRF will review and provide input on our rider education materials as well as analyse our safety data. Together, we will also co-launch safety campaigns built on these activities.
As a safety-leading e-scooter operator, we’ve introduced an impressive number of innovations to help keep riders safe. These include the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock which secures a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; topple detection; a 911 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; a ‘Follow my Ride’ function; and we pioneered the use of geofencing technology to control where e-scooters can be ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel.
We look forward to working with TIRF to continue educating e-scooter riders and the wider public, to keep them safe and reduce incidents as much as possible.
