Before starting your tour we suggest you download the Darwin Street Art Festival (DSAF) app so you can scan the QR Code at each artwork and learn about the murals as you go.

Take the tour!

Download the Neuron app to find an e-scooter or e-bike near you. If you’re new to Neuron, here’s how to start riding. Simply scan the QR code to ride (PAYG) or purchase a Neuron Pass via the “Rates & Passes” section of the Neuron app. If you are riding PAYG it will cost you $1 to unlock the e-scooter or e-bike and 45 cents per minute to ride. If you’re a pass holder the unlock fee is waived and the first 90 minutes of riding is included.


Don’t forget to scan the QR code at each mural to find out more about the artist and the artwork.

Tour 1: Watermelon Wave, Waterfront Scoot

Recommended Time: 20mins  |  Total Distance: 3km  |  Number of Street Art Murals: 53
Highlights: The crab by
Sofles, Peacock by Jess Bells, Watermelon Wave by Cindy May, Gurrumul by Andrew Bourke and Jesse Bell – Austin Lane.

The Route:

  • Start at the Waterfront
  • Ride along the McMinn Street and turn left into Bennett Street
  • Turn right at Cavenagh Street and head to Knuckey Street
  • Turn left down to Knuckey street and turn left into Austin Lane (remember to watch for traffic)
  • Keep riding in Austin lane and turn right at Bennett street
  • Once you pass the Mall, turn right into West Lane
  • Cross Knuckey Street to Shadforth Lane and continue riding and turn left at Peel Street
  • Turn left at Mitchell Street and continue riding and turn right to Smith Street
  • Stop the journey by parking the scooter in Sky Bridge

After your ride...

When you’re done riding, grab an ice cream at the popular Trampoline Gelato or some tasty Mexican at Hot Tamale. The Waterfront also offers many grassy areas perfect for relaxing, and the recreation lagoon, including the super-fun wave pool.

Tour 2: The Crab, Short Loop

Recommended Time: 5mins  |  Total Distance: 750m  |  Number of Street Art Murals: 49
Highlights: Shaniqua, by Kaff-Eine – West Lane

The Route:

  • Pick up a Neuron e-scooter at the Spain Place station.
  • Discover art in the Spain Place Precinct, then head across Knuckey Street and down Austin Lane towards Bennett Street
  • Turn right at Bennett Street and head to West Lane
  • Turn right down West Lane (remember to watch for traffic)
  • Cross Knuckey Street into Shadforth Lane
  • At the end of Shadforth Lane turn right and head back to Spain Place

After your ride...

When you’re finished riding, grab a burger at Good Thanks, a coffee at one of the many cafes, or a cold juice at The Harvest Press. Raintree Park also offers a lovely shady area perfect for relaxing.

Tour 3: Gossypium Sturtianum, City Centre Highlights 

Recommended Time: 10mins  |  Total Distance: 1.4km  |  Number of Street Art Murals: 43
Highlights: Shadforth Lane – the locals lane. All artwork in this lane is done by Northern Territorian artists

The Route:

  • Pick up a Neuron e-scooter at the virtual parking station on the corner of West Lane and Bennett Street
  • Ride down West Lane (remember to watch for traffic)
  • Cross Knuckey Street into Shadforth Lane
  • At the end of Shadforth Lane turn right at Peel Street, then right into Smith Street
  • Head to Austin Lane (adjacent to the Smith Street mall)
  • Ride down Austin Lane and turn left at Bennett Street
  • Finish your ride at the tribute to Vincent Lingiari on the corner of Bennett Street and Cavenagh Street

After your ride...

When you’re done riding, grab coffee at Postie, a snack at the Roma Bar, or a cold soft drink and swim at The Cav.

Tour 4: Wild and Free, Croc Cove to Cavenagh

Recommended Time: 10mins  |  Total Distance: 1.3km | Number of Street Art Murals: 45

The Route:

  • Pick up a Neuron e-scooter at the virtual parking station on the corner of Mitchell Street and Peel Street
  • Ride all the way down Mitchell Street and around the bend into Bennett Street

  • Turn left to West Lane and keep and cross Knuckey Street to Shadforth Lane

  • Turn right at Peel Street, right at Smith Street and head to Austin Lane (adjacent to the Smith Street Mall)

  • Ride down Austin Lane and turn left at Bennett street

  • Finish your ride at the Cavenagh Hotel

After your ride...

Before you start riding make sure to say “Hi” to our croc friends in Crocosaurus Cove and when you’re done riding, grab a Poke bowl at Poke Ola Darwin or check out the cool merch in House of Darwin.
